Proposed Queenstown Independent School site Jacks Point
We must begin thinking like a river if we are to leave a legacy of beauty and life for future generations - David Brower
What education options do we need in Queenstown?
Lisa Guy has volunteered her time to facilitate the process of securing an independent school for the Queenstown Lakes District in Otago New Zealand.
Needs analysis and community feedback indicates strong support for an independent high school offering exceptional academic standards and learning academies for golf, snow sports, tennis and equestrian pursuits.
It would seem desirable that eventually the school would operate at preschool, primary, middle and secondary school levels at an exceptional standard of education in a majestic environment.
BUILD IT AND THEY WILL COME...
To date - 2013 :
A survey has been conducted to assess community interest and support.
Statistics have been gathered to explore growth projections and current educational demographics.
Land in the stunning environs of Jacks Pt. has been identified as the preferred site for the project.
Expressions of interest for corner stone investment for the building of facilities are being sought.
A working party has been created to formulate vision and foundation principles for the future school.
Current:
Meetings are underway to formulate input to the investment portfolio and school prospectus. Contact Lisa to join the working party or to be added to the email data base for updates. The bridge approval at Kawarau Falls is great news for development at Jacks Point. If you are keen to be involved sing out.
