Handling Challenging Situations
This workshop takes the conflict resolution process in chunks and looks at how we can positively respond to challenging situations.
Participants learn to identify what the issue is and focus on reaching outcomes that positively impacts all parties.
What’s gone wrong? What’s going on? – how to work out what the issue really is.
Having respond-ability. Regardless of the issue or the outcome how we choose to respond to a situation can impact how all parties feel about what has happened.
Complaint handling, disagreements, disputes and mediation.
Focus on what we can DO.
How to identify the areas that can be fixed and what things may need referral or other solutions.
Diffusing the situation – navigating the mine field.
Saying sorry, accepting accountability who owns the problem?
Celebrating successes – ensuring that a conflict does not spread or contaminate other situations.
